As this is a blog about Folk Music and Local folk, I'd like to give a big mention to Mr Mike Craine, Futile Brother and Musician extraordinaire, speaking to him last night and he mentioned lots of gigs lined up for the near future, I know it's not Folk Music, but what is folk music? local folk making music, good enough for me.

Brand New Soul Covers Band Launch their new set.
Mike writes and plays for a couple of local bands and has been gigging for over 20 yrs
With a clutch of new songs he will be playing solo and acoustic.
(I remember first coming accross him around 25 yrs ago loitering in doorways busking in Burnley late at night as we were walking home from the pub) He was good then.
25 yrs or so later and he is doing great, well recommended, he is one of the people making it happen, organising and playing lots of gigs.
Also something about Art.
Mike has an exhibition coming up in Colne library in January.
